About this notice.
This Privacy Notice applies to polygentlabs.com (the "Site") and to any direct communications you have with Polygent Labs, Inc. ("we," "us," "our"). It does not cover third-party websites or services that the Site may link to — each of those has its own privacy practices.
If we launch separate products or services in the future, those may have their own privacy notices, which would supplement or replace this one for that service.
What we collect.
We collect two kinds of information.
Information you give us
When you email us, apply for a role, or otherwise contact us directly, you may share your name, email address, professional background (in a résumé or cover letter), and the content of your message. You decide what to send; we only see what you choose to send.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our hosting and analytics providers may automatically receive limited technical information about your visit, including:
- IP address (often truncated or anonymized before storage)
- Browser type, version, and language
- Operating system and device type
- The pages you visit on the Site and how long you spend on them
- The referring URL (the page you arrived from)
We use this in aggregate to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve it. We don't use it to build profiles about individual visitors, and we don't combine it with information you give us directly unless necessary to respond to a specific request from you.
How we use it.
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your messages and inquiries.
- Evaluate job applications and communicate about open roles.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We don't use your information for advertising and we don't sell it.
Cookies & analytics.
The Site uses a small number of essential cookies for basic functionality (such as remembering theme preferences or maintaining session state).
For analytics, we use privacy-respecting tools that aim to measure aggregate usage without tracking individuals across sites. We don't use advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels, or third-party tracking that follows you around the web.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Doing so may affect some functionality of the Site, but you can still read it.
Retention.
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it — for example, correspondence is kept while we're in conversation with you and for a reasonable period afterward, and job applications are kept long enough to evaluate them and consider you for related future roles unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Aggregated and anonymized data may be kept indefinitely, since it no longer identifies you.
Your rights.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information we hold about you, including:
- The right to access the information we hold about you.
- The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- The right to delete your information, subject to legal exceptions.
- The right to object to or restrict certain processing.
- The right to portability — to receive a copy of your information in a portable format.
- The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise these rights, email comms@polygentlabs.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before we act. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children's privacy.
The Site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us at comms@polygentlabs.com and we'll delete it.
Transfers & security.
Polygent Labs is based in the United States and operates the Site from there. If you visit from outside the U.S., information about your visit may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your home country.
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. No system is perfectly secure, however, so we can't guarantee absolute security; if we ever learn of a security incident that materially affects you, we'll notify you as required by applicable law.
Changes & contact.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we'll try to give reasonable notice before the change takes effect.
